Here to stay

Updated: Oct 4, 2022

Have you ever wondered: "Why me? Why now?"

I think about that same thing daily. The "why's" can stack up easily, bringing about a sense of judgement as to why we are experiencing this specific difficulty, illness, or trial. Discomfort, pain, sorrow, sadness, tragedy, trauma--anything that isn't joy or happiness--can often times be perceived as negative, harmful occurrences, ones that we want to avoid at all costs.

I'm here to tell you--STAY. Stay with the pain, the sorrow, the discomfort. Stay with that feeling and experience. We may never know the WHY of it all but we sure can come to understand that through it, we are learning. All of our experiences in life are our teachers. When we learn to stay and ask ourselves "What am I here to learn?" instead of the persistent and incessant "Why is this happening to me?", we can get curious about our situation. From this curiosity, we can form a fundamental pattern of compassion care for ourselves.

That's what we need: more curiosity, less judgement. More acceptance, less avoidance. More compassion, less restriction. This is where Ayurveda steps in and shines. It allows for us to care for our needs in every season of life, to meet ourselves exactly where we are at. Yes, there are some health issues that have become so normalized that we think everyone just goes through that, its normal--Ayurveda says that it is actually dis-ease, disease! However, Ayurveda doesn't shame us to heal--it welcomes us and invites us to take a seat with our own selves, to be open and honest, to really stay with our experience. Once we begin the journey of awareness, we can unlock the healing that awaits in our own being.

We all have the ability to heal within us. We have simply forgotten. Ayurveda says that the root cause of all disease begins in the gut. However, a teacher of mine says that the root cause of all disease is one step before that--we forgot about our true nature; who we are. We forgot about our own needs and dampened that voice within ourselves that knew.

So, what do you do next? What happens once we reckon with this awakening within ourselves? How do we know to care for ourselves or remember that? Thats where I am here to help. As an Ayurvedic Health Counselor I am here to help you remember. To help you dive into your past and current health issues (mind, body, spirit), to begin to peal back those layers and connect the pieces of the puzzle. My job is for you to have the tools to support yourself to a more balanced and harmonious health, one that changes within each season of the year and season of your life.

Abundance and healing awaits--book your session today.
